About Us
Background
Founded in 2006, Kenyan Community in Colorado (KCC) began with an original purpose of bringing Kenyans together through bereavement support and events. Over the years, KCC's Summer Picnic and Christmas Party grew to be community staples.
Since then, the community has seen significant growth, beginning in 2010, with Kenyan communities growing outside of the Denver Metro Area. Looking forward, KCC is going to continue its commitment to the growth and inclusion of all Kenyans within the state.
Our Mission
KCC's mission is: "To connect and serve all Kenyans and friends of Kenyans in Colorado."
KCC fulfills this mission through the following objectives:
- Cultural preservation and promotion
- Social wellbeing and integration for the community
- Economic empowerment and development for KCC members
- Educational and vocational opportunities for KCC members
- Connect community members to embassy/consulate services
- Advocate for issues affecting the community
